Butterfly Bonanza!

A mysterious box arrived in the post this week...

We were delighted to discover our newest members of class had arrived safe and sound, 5 caterpillars destined to become painted lady butterflies!

Frog Frenzy!

Rachel brought in some frogspawn for us to observe.  We got a special license to keep and observe the frogspawn. Lucy and Aisling made a suitable habitat for the frogspawn. The Junior Infants were very interested in our frogspawn.  The spawn has now developed into tadpoles!

Cream Crackers!

We explored the need for saliva to aid in eating and digestion in 5th Class!

Tremendous Teeth!

5th Class explored the effect of plaque on their teeth, with some interesting results!

5th Class completed projects on the Vikings this week.  Check them out!

Dunmore Caves

We have been learning about the Vikings in 5th Class.  We were lucky enough to visit the Dunmore Caves, where Viking coins and artefacts have been found.  We learned about the history of the caves and how they were formed.  It was a fantastic trip!
