Green Fingers

5th Class are getting out their green fingers once again this year and are taking part in the Incredible Edibles project. This year we have planted strawberries, potatoes, cabbages, scallions and lettuce. We are looking forward to a bumper harvest in June!

Wildlife Ranger!

Jimmy Conroy, our local Wildlife Ranger came to talk to 5th class today about the birds and animals found in Kilkenny. He was a really interesting visitor and brought some equally interesting furry friends along with him!

5th Class History Projects

As part of our study on Medieval Ireland 5th class made amazing model castles. The whole school came to look and were very impressed!

5th Class Art

5th Class made some very unusual birds in art which we hung in the corridor. They made great Christmas decorations! We were also visited by Alice Bennett, a great art teacher and her friend Jacqui, an amazing origami artist who taught us how to make origami birds and hearts. It was a little confusing but great fun!

Christmas Models

6th class this year continued the tradition of designing and making fabulous Christmas models. Mrs Murphy had a very hard time in picking the winner but eventually picked this fireplace model by Maria Mulrooney, Margaret Kehoe and Anna Tobin. Some of the other models are also pictured.

5th and 6th Class Science

5th and 6th class are hard at work trying to win another Award of Science Excellence for our school. These pictures show 5th class "scaring" some pepper, testing the intriguing properties of plastic and seeing just how many drops will fit on a 10 cent coin (a lot!)!! You can also see 6th class checking out their reaction times.
